International Fellowship Program

Dear ISVS Member: Our current generation of trainees have been raised in a globally connected world and are accustomed to sharing ideas, resources, manpower, and data. Travel and cultural immersion are imperative to the development of well-rounded Vascular Specialists and the ISVS has set-up a framework for international clinical exchange programs which allow seamless movement between countries and continents. This will build our community and provide opportunities to our most-gifted vascular surgery trainees.

The ISVS are offering a competitive and innovate international fellowship programme whereby vascular surgery trainees travel for 14 weeks to seven different centres around the world. They will spend 2 weeks in each center spread out over a period of 36 months, and fellows will have the opportunity to engage in clinical activities, and in most centers they will be able to participate in surgical and endovascular procedures. Fellows will visit centers in Ireland, USA, United Kingdom, Italy, Romania, China, India and Brazil.

The Dean of the program is Prof Sherif Sultan, Western Vascular Institute, National University of Ireland Galway, Ireland and vice-Dean is Prof Peter Faries, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, New York, USA.

The fellowship is only open to those who have been active members of the ISVS for a period of two years. Fellows will receive institutional accreditation and international diploma fellowship certification on completion of the program from the ISVS council.

After finishing the full rotation the diploma fellow will be issued after $2,000 donation to ISVS.

NOTE: ALL APPLICANTS WILL HAVE TO PROVIDE A LETTER WITH SPECIFIC DETAILS, ALONG WITH A CURRICULUM VITAE. ALL APPLICANTS WILL BE REVIEWED AND CONSIDERED. HOWEVER, NOT EVERY APPLICANT WILL BE ABLE TO ROTATE THROUGH THIS PROGRAM.
